He serves as Chair of the Association Montessori International Global Research Committee, and is a member of the American Montessori Society Research Committee. 


Dr. Hughes is Minnesota’s first provider of Cogmed working memory training. Cogmed has been proven to be effective through peer-reviewed research published in major journals, and is recognized by the American Academy of Pediatrics as a “Level 2” treatment showing good empirical evidence of efficacy in the treatment of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder.
